About the event

Physicians for Social Responsibility Pennsylvania is producing a web panel Feb 11 at 6pm in an effort to build bridges between labor, impacted communities, and sustainability advocates. We'll be interviewing three former oil and gas workers (including a former PES refinery employee) who have become environmental justice advocates and asking them how these communities can learn from and work together for the future we all want, including ensuring we all have a healthy environment, a safe workplace, financial security, and a sustainable energy future.


BIOS:

As a 3rd generation oil and gas worker with more than a decade of firsthand experience in the industry, James Hiatt understands the tough choices many workers face—trying to make a living while dealing with the impacts these industries have on health and the environment. Born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, his deep connection to the community inspired him to seek a better way…
