This hands-on training session draws on more than a decade of frontline monitoring experience, led by someone who began this work as an impacted resident and now serves as Director of Science and Investigations for PSR PA. Participants will come away with field-tested strategies for: Safely observing industrial sites across a range of sectors Recognizing potential hazards before and during site visits Documenting activity in ways that are clear, credible, and legally defensible Preparing effectively — from what to bring to what to expect on the ground Selecting the right tools and equipment for different monitoring scenarios Whether you're a concerned neighbor, a community organizer, or an environmental advocate, this training will sharpen your ability to build strong, defensible records that can drive real accountability — through community action, regulatory reporting, and beyond. Safety and situational awareness are woven throughout every aspect of this training.
