Julie Ann Becker was an inspiring friend, mentor, educator, and advocate whose life’s work centered on protecting people and the planet. She dedicated her career to advancing environmental health, championing human rights, and supporting women, children, and families. Julie’s creativity, intellect, and deep compassion touched countless lives - from her students and colleagues, to her friends and family, to the many individuals and organizations she inspired through her leadership.

As founder of the award-winning Women’s Health and Environmental Network (WHEN) and a leader within Physicians for Social Responsibility Pennsylvania (PSR PA), Julie worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the connections between environment and health. She helped shape public understanding of how pollution and climate change affect our most vulnerable, especially women and children. Her legacy is one of courage, generosity, and unwavering commitment to a healthier, more just world.
Continuing Julie's Legacy
In memory of Julie, PSR PA has established the Julie Becker Memorial Fund. This fund will carry forward her vision by supporting programs that reflect her lifelong passions:
