About the Event

Physicians for Social Responsibility Pennsylvania (PSR PA) is partnering with the Alliance for Heat Resilience and Health to support Heat Safety Week and engage partners across the state in raising awareness and advancing action. As extreme heat becomes more frequent and severe, it remains a leading—yet often under recognized—public health threat, disproportionately impacting older adults, outdoor workers, and low-income communities.

As part of this effort, we are offering this webinar that brings together:

  • Joniqua Ceasar, Primary care internist and pediatrician currently practicing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Board member PSR PA.

  • Alex Skula, Program Manager of Public Health Preparedness, Philadelphia Department of Public Health.

  • State Representative Elizabeth Fiedler, PA 184-District, Public Health Advocate and Prime Sponsor of House Bill 1580, which would provide worker protections from extreme heat-related injury or heat-related illness.
