Mutual Aid Block Party
Artist: Seamone Farries

Philadelphia-based artist khaleelartt (Seamone Farries) created Mutual Aid Block Party, a digital illustration capturing a lively neighborhood celebration at sundown from the perspective of the DJ’s tent. The block is filled with lights, movement, and collective care, including a tent offering COVID‑19 testing, illustrating how communities show up for one another even in times of crisis.
Seamone’s work centers Black queerness, community care, and the joy that emerges when people gather in shared space. Her piece highlights the deep cultural role of Philly block parties, which have long served as hubs of creativity, protest, and mutual aid. Her work honors these gatherings as spaces where art, activism, and community strength come together.
